For MP4 files
MP4 noise removal
Drop an MP4 from your phone, camera or screen recorder and get an MP4 back with clean voice and the same picture.
Cleaned on your own device — the file is never uploaded.
The problem
What gets in the way
MP4 is what phones, cameras, screen recorders and meeting apps hand you. To clean its sound you usually have to pull the audio out, fix it in another app and rebuild the file, re-encoding the video on the way.
- Traffic and crowds outdoors
- Fans and air conditioning indoors
- Keyboard clicks in screen recordings
- Hiss from a built-in mic
What you get
A clean voice, ready to use
- An MP4 back with the same video stream
- Clean AAC audio, in sync with the picture
- No watermark
- Or the audio alone as WAV, MP3 or M4A
How it works
Four steps, one clean file
Step 1: Pick your settings
Choose a Loudness (YouTube −14 LUFS for online video, Podcast −16 LUFS for talks) and leave Output format on Same as original for an MP4.
Step 2: Drop the MP4
Drag the MP4 onto the tool, or choose it from your files.
Step 3: Let it clean
Your browser cleans the MP4 on your own computer and it is never uploaded. The first file takes a little longer while our speech AI loads.
Step 4: Compare and keep it
The clean MP4 downloads by itself when it is ready. Play the A/B preview to switch between original and cleaned at the same moment, or change a setting and choose Download again.
For this recording
Recommended settings
- Loudness
- YouTube (−14 LUFS)
- Output format
- Same as original
Most MP4s end up online, where −14 LUFS is the usual level. Same as original keeps it an MP4 with the video untouched.
Set them in the tool before you add the file: they are used for the automatic download, and you can change them afterwards and download again.
Good to know
- Music is turned down under the voice rather than removed, so it never cuts in and out between words.
- Wind blowing into the mic is hard to separate from speech and may only be reduced.
Formats & limits
What goes in, what comes out
- MP4
- MOV
Same as original: an MP4 with the video copied and the audio as AAC. Or save only the audio as WAV, MP3 or M4A.
- MP3, M4A and video audio tracks are written in mono at about the source bitrate (at least 160 kbps): the cleaned voice sits in the centre.
- MOV files work the same way and come back as MOV. WebM and MKV are supported too.

FAQ
Common questions
Is the video re-encoded?
No. The H.264, HEVC or other video stream is copied into the new MP4 unchanged. Only the audio is decoded, cleaned and encoded again as AAC.
Will the MP4 still play everywhere?
It is a standard MP4 with AAC audio, the same kind your phone or editor made, so it plays wherever the original did.
Can I turn the MP4 into an audio file?
Yes. Set Output format to M4A, MP3 or WAV and you get only the cleaned audio.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The cleaning runs inside your browser, on your own computer. Your audio and video never leave your device; our server only receives the file’s length and format to check your allowance.
Is it free?
A free account cleans 30 minutes a month, no card needed. The paid plans, Creator (9 hours), Pro (30 hours) and Studio (100 hours) a month, take files up to 3 hours and 4 GB each. See the pricing page for details.
